Papal Ozone

It has been said that when Pope John Paul II visited Los Angeles in 1987, "there was electricity in the air." Scientists, only as recently as 2003, discovered the nasty effect that electricity in the air has on atmospheric ozone. Does this mean that papal visits contribute to Los Angeles air pollution? Not to worry. A check of L.A. ozone records reveals that there was actually a dip in ozone levels for the year of the Pope's last visit! Will this be counted as a miracle at John Paul II's canonization hearings? Stay tuned!
